I am configuring an old iMac to use as a standalone, off network, music workstation with an old version of GarageBand. My assumption is that any Apple server updates would be encrypted, but can a deprecated OS vulnerability break that security in some way and set up my networks or that machine for attacks? Obviously, a wired ethernet connection would be more secure than wireless, but would even a wired connection be vulnerable?
